Autumn in the Jizera Mountains can feel truly magical. When the colourful landscape meets a bright blue sky and pleasantly warm weather, that is a clear sign to head out. That was exactly the kind of day we caught for our trip from Albrechtice up Tanvaldský Špičák, a peak with wonderful views.
From Albrechtice past the Jizera viewpoints:
Our hike began in the morning right by the Chata u lesa in Albrechtice. The sun was pleasantly warm and the route took us along mountain paths lined with beautifully coloured trees. On the way up, one stunning panorama after another opened up, and we also made a short stop at the rock viewpoints looking down into the deep valley.
A reward at the top and an excellent lunch:
After the climb to the summit of Tanvaldský Špičák, the stone lookout tower and its mountain hut came into view. The atmosphere at the top was great. We had a clear plan: a well-earned lunch. The restaurant below the tower served honest, really excellent food. As a sweet memory and souvenir we took home a lovely Turistický perník No. 5, a gingerbread decorated with the lookout tower.
